When hyaluronic acid diminishes, your skin loses its youthful look. Lines begin to appear around the mouth and the lips start to thin.

Our lips are one of the most vulnerable areas for ageing as the skin is very thin. Over time, our lips start to lose fullness and wrinkles start to appear. Juvederm hyaluronic acid filler is a smooth gel which is injected under the skin, using an ultra-fine needle. The gel fills lines and wrinkles whilst the hyaluronic acid within attracts and retains moisture, so results can last up to a year. The Juvederm range of facial fillers, developed specifically for the lip and mouth area is not granular, which means that it can flow easily into the skin for a natural look and feel. The smooth gel consistency means it can be tailored to your individual lip shape, subtly adding fullness while maintaining the details that make your lips unique.

All lip shapes are attractive but some need subtle, natural-looking volume enhancement, while asymmetric lips may need a gentle modification to adjust proportions.

Prior to the treatment you will be offered either a topical anaesthetic cream which is applied to the lips or a local nerve infiltration (LNI) where you will receive 4 tiny injections of local anaesthetic that will completely anaesthetise your lips, similar to what you may have had at the dentist.

Juvederm injectables are a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment, so recovery time is short and you will be able to continue your normal life with little disruption. Full aftercare advice will be given, usually you will be advised to stop wearing makeup for 12 hours and advised to avoid sun, sauna and steam rooms for 2 weeks.
